District Five covers Union City, Chattahoochee Hills, Palmetto, South Fulton, Fairburn, College Park, East Point, and East Atlanta. We are the largest district in Fulton County with a 90% Black population and approximately 200,000 constituents.
Dr. Jazz Thomas-Jones is a native of Albany Georgia, who has resided in "South" metro Atlanta since 1989. She is a retired decorated navy veteran, and retired federal employee with 30+ years as an administrator.
Dr. Jazz's extensive government career has entailed various assignments to include: supervision of temporary staffing, information technology, software, recruitment of personnel, budget, auditing, payroll, and negotiations of government contracts.
She is a publicist and marketing consultant who has managed nonprofit initiatives for "Ovarian Cancer Research" and other entities raising money, awareness, and exposure for her clients.
Dr. Jazz has a Bachelor of Arts dual Degree in Integrative Studies/Communication and Media Studies, with a focus in Political Science and Local Government. She has served for 41 years as an ordained minister and holds an Honorable Doctorate in Metaphysics.
Today, Dr. Jazz is a social justice advocate who serves the community as an Independent Freelance Journalist, Minister, and Syndicate Podcaster.
As Founder @ Champion For Justice Network, Dr. Jazz advocates for social justice and equality. She was instrumental in reaching out to Attorneys Ben Crump, and Gerald Griggs in 2015, which brought national attention to America's biggest problem "Police Brutality" and the social injustice during the murders of Trayvon Martin, Mark Brown, Tamir Rice, and many others.
Dr. Jazz has been a Street Minister for decades, ministering to lost souls incarcerated and on her daily journey. She goes places many clergy would never go, and serves under the guidance and leadership of Assembly of God USA.
She is a devoted mother of two, and a loving grandmother.
Dr. Jazz is President and Founder @ Platinum Media Network, she is a Pioneer of Digital Media and Internet Radio. A content creator, media guru, and syndicate podcast producer who share "True Life Experiences" of the lives of Extraordinary Leaders and Entertainers. As a historian and videographer she captures moments in realtime documenting community and live entertainment events.
